What is christmas wonderland? 


Christmas wonderland  is a seasonal festive event returning to rotherham for its second year. 

This year is bigger and better with the introduction of a christmas wonderland village which hosts all things festive  from food and drink outlets, winter fun fair,  side stalls, festive lights, Alpine bar, family photo opportunities, festive music, fire pits and much more...


and not forgetting the return of our Christmas wonderland santa's Grotto!

There really is something for everyone!

Where is christmas wonderland?

Christmas wonderland will host the event in magna car park.  magna science adventure centre, rotherham.

When is christmas wonderland Open?


The event will run from 3rd december 2021 - 23th december 2021

Wednesday - Friday 15:30 to  21:00*

Saturday - Sunday 10:00 - 21:30*

17th December 2021 - 23rd december 2021

Open everyday 10:00 - 21:30*

What are the ticket types?

This year there are 2 two types of tickets that can be purchased.


General entry tickets for the Christmas Wonderland Village 

This ticket gives you entry to the christmas wonderland village ONLY. This will give you access to the winter fun fair and side stalls,  our festive alpine bar, food and drink outlets, photo zones.


Grotto tickers

This ticket gives you entry to christmas wonderland village at any time during opening hours and entry to the grotto at the booked time slot found on the ticket.

how much do General entry tickets cost?

ticket start from £2 per person (plus booking fee) this ticket includes general entry to christmas wonderland village and is not a grotto ticket. 

General tickets gets you access to the site only. all other attractions/rides/food/drink and merchandise stalls incur extra costs.

how much do grotto tickets cost?

ticket start from £14 per  Child,  £7 per adult and £5 per Baby  (plus booking fee) the ticket includes entry to christmas wonderland village and the santa grotto. 


We strongly advise tickets are purchased in advance to ensure entry and avoid any disappointment as tickets to the grotto are limited. 

do i need a ticket for a baby in arms under 12 months old?


general entry ticket not required for children under the age of 2 years into christmas wonderland village.

Grotto tickets are required for a baby. please see ticket prices for more info.

do children need to be supervised by an adult in the grotto?


Yes. All children need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the event site. Including in the grotto.


All Children must be accompanied by at least one paying adult in the grotto. 

what will my visit consist of?


Christmas wonderland is bringing all things festive to Rotherham this December. Guests will be able to walk around the site and enjoy a festive atmosphere with festive food and drink stalls, fair ground rides, festive lights and photo opportunities and much more.


guest who purchased a grotto ticket will get to visit Santa's Grotto. Once you have walked through the experience with live entertainment acts you will get to meet Santa, have a photo opportunity and receive a gift before leaving the Grotto (booking essential).

HOw long is the GROTTO experience?


there is no time limit on how long you can stay at christmas wonderland uk. you can stay for a little or as long as you like at the site. 

The Grotto - approximately 30/45 minute experiance.

Do I need to book in advance?


booking in advance is strongly advised as this is a limited capacity event. 

can i buy tickets onsite?


Yes you can buy tickets on arrival. however it is strongly advised to per-book your tickets prior to avoid any disappointment. This is a limited capacity event.

how many tickets can i buy?

The minimum required tickets are 1 adult and 1 child ticket to enter the grotto. all children must be accompanied by one paying adult.

when and how will i receive my tickets?


You will receive your tickets via the email you provided when booking.

will there be additional covid-19 measures in place?


Yes. The safety of our visitors, Elves and Father Christmas is top priority.

There will be hand sanitising points situated throughout the experience.

face mask are not compulsory but are advised. 

Children will not be able to sit on santa's knee, but he is looking forward to welcoming all children.


Christmas wonderland is situated outdoor meaning that it is a well ventilated environment. Attractions will be located in temporary structures and we will have sheltered seating areas for guest. 

We ask that all guest comply with any government guidelines throughout all areas of the event.


Grotto photos


Every family/group will have the opportunity to have a photo taken with santa by one of our elves. Guest are not allowed to take their own photos with santa.

please purchase any photos from santa's grotto before leaving as you will not be able to re-enter the grotto at a later time or date. no photo will be stored after the site closes on each event day, please make sure you are happy with the quality and layout of these photos before you leave site. no refunds will be offered on gifts or photos.

No Photos will are permitted inside santa's grotto. anyone taking photo's will be removed from site by security. 

can i bring my own food and drink?

No. You are not allowed to bring your own food or drink on to site. 


what is the refund policy?


Tickets are non-refundable. if you are late for your grotto session or can no longer attend your allocated session for any reason, unfortunately we cannot offer a refund or allocate an alternative session. If we find its necessary to close the event for any reason an alternative session will be offered (subject to availability) if an alternative session cannot be offered then a refund  will be issued (not including booking fee).

Can i change my booked session?


Session times can be changed if 72 hours notice and will incur a £5 admin fee.


Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund on any sessions that are missed. 

Will i get to see santa? 


If you have purchased a ticket for the santa grotto all guest will get to see santa.

You will not see santa if you have purchased a General entry ticket to christmas wonderland village as this does not include entry to santa's grotto.


Please do not touch santa or any of his elves and other site staff and try to maintain socially distant where possible.

will we get a photo?


Yes, a photo opportunity will be available inside the grotto. 

There will be other photo and selfie opportunities onsite for all guest, but not with santa himself.

Can I take video or photographs in christmas wonderland's grotto?

No. You cannot record or photograph in the grotto. You can purchase photographs from our Merchandise Stall. Anyone found to be taking photos using their own devices will be removed from site by security with no refund.

If I arrive late will I be allowed to enter?


please arrive early to ensure that you are on time for your grotto time slot. if you arrive late you may have to wait to enter the attraction or be refused entry due limits on capacity. 

Please note the grotto is located inside the christmas wonderland village, there may be a wait to entry the village during busy periods please ensure that you factor this into your arrival time.

if you have purchased tickets to the Christmas wonderland village only you can enter at any time during the opening hours. 

can i attend the event if i don't have a car/vehicle?


Yes you are welcome to attend without a car/vehicle.  This years event is not a drive thru event.

Do you have toilets available?


Yes toilet are available onsite including baby change. 

Do you have strobe lights, fog or loud noises?

Yes there be use of such effects onsite. 

Are pets allowed at christmas wonderland uk?

No pets are allowed.

Can I get a refund on my ticket if I don't go in an attraction or lose my ticket or change my mind?

No, all tickets are non-refundable or transferable under any circumstance.


When should I not visit?

We respectfully ask that you take responsibility for your own health and that of the wider community before visiting christmas wonderland uk. Please do not visit if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been asked to self-isolate. Please follow the advise given by the UK Government, Public Health England & the NHS. 


Please ensure that you are following all government guidance surrounding covid-19 to ensure the safety of all guest, staff, santa and his elves during the event.


please do not attend the event if it means you are breaking the law in doing so.

By purchasing tickets for christmas wonderland you agree to comply with all rules in full including all government guidelines.
